Finished sizes: King penguin - 21" tall, Adelie, Rockhopper or Chinstrap penguin adult - 18" tall, baby penguins - 9" tall

This pattern has variations to make any of four species of penguin adults, plus 2 versions of baby penguins. The Adelie penguin has a flat head, white circles around its eyes, black patches under its wings. The rockhopper penguin has bright feathers sticking straight out from the sides of its head. The chipstrap penguin has a flattish head, and a narrow black band under its chin. The King penguin is taller, has a long black band with orange patches on the underside, and bright orange and yellow patches on its head. They all have flat 3-piece feet so they can stand up balanced. Baby penguins can be all fluffy gray or brown, or with a black and white head. Any of the adults may be dressed in a tuxedo and bowtie, which includes jacket, tucked shirt with buttons and collar, cummerbund and bowtie.
